Abu Simbel Sun Festival

Abu Simbel is one of the most significant sites of Egypt which is well known for its architecture, customs and traditions.

The Sun festival of Abu Simbel is observed twice a year, on 22 February and 22 October, which resembles the birth and ascension to the throne of the Emperor. This incredible natural phenomenon provides the most spectacular site which is referred as the Sun Festival of King Ramses II. The crowds throng into the temple before the sunrise and observe the streams of sunlight which gradually sneak through the stone, enlightening the statuettes of Ramses, Ra and Amun.

This would be the most spectacular scene and spectators would take a few minutes to shirk off the awe. After the breath taking event, it’s the time to enjoy the music, dancing, eating, drinking, fun and extravaganza which takes place outside the temple.

This is one of the world’s most stunning events which occurred due to the efforts of the human enterprise and natural occurrence.
